SIM Prescription Safety Initiative Begins 9/1/11

Stanford Internal Medicine has initiated a new prescription safety program effective 9/1/11. 

The first phase is to standardize frequency of medication monitoring visits to ensure optimal prescription safety as follows:

• Patients on chronic TRIPILICATE prescription narcotics should be seen a minimum of four times per year, usually every 3 months.
• Patients with Diabetes should be seen at least every 6 months.
• Patients on any prescription medication should be seen yearly.
